St. Patrick’s Day on March 17 is fast approaching. We at Seglund Gabe Pawlak & Groth, PLC want our clients and everyone to enjoy the day.
Below are a few sobering statistics we want you to keep in mind while the green beer begins to flow.
– 20% of adults plan on having a drink to celebrate (Source: Statistic Brain)
– Between 2012-2016, there were a total of 269 drunk driving deaths across America on St. Patrick’s Day (Source: NHTSA)
– During “post-party hours”, between the hours of midnight to 5:59 a.m., nearly 69% of crash fatalities involve drunk drivers. (Source: NHTSA)
St. Patrick’s Day is a fun-filled holiday celebrated by most of us, even if we don’t have any Irish in the family. But it can tend to get a bit out of control. Between parades, rowdy bars, and feasting with friends and family, there are plenty of ways trouble can find someone like a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow.
While we sincerely hope that luck may be on your side, but be sure you select a designated driver during the fourth largest drinking holiday of the year.
Have fun and stay safe!
